As per usual the extremism approaches to our problems are being touted. Many so-called environmentalists demand the total elimination of coal usage and say there is no such thing as clean coal, which just helps the coal companies retain the status quo as they claim the need for more time to do more research because the politicians will not shut down the coal power plants that the country needs. The auto industry used the same lying technique about the current level of technology to kill the electric car when they got California to remove its zero emission requirements and instead implement a slight improvement in fuel efficiency standards. Another extreme idea is to demand that we store ALL CO2 emissions that we produce underground to protect against global warming.
No one is bothering to look at the whole picture. Narrow minded tunnel thinking is a retarded pretence of logic because the maximum number of environmental factors that we can think of should be taken into consideration. Real science requires considering the maximum number of variables that are involved to reach a more correct conclusion. If you ignored some of the factors involved in an equation in your math classes in school, because you didn’t know how to work them within the question and/or because it was easier, then you would have gotten the wrong answer. Maximum-factoring logic will be applied by any REAL SCIENTIST while the foolish and the deceivers will ignore the factors they wish then claim science proves their cause.
We have to think about how to approach pollution and global warming so as to NOT casually damage our economy and people’s livelihoods, to protect our immediate and future energy security needs, and while realizing that there are many other ways CO2 enters into our atmosphere and the FACT that we shouldn’t be trying to totally eliminate the release of it into our atmosphere.
If we strongly promoted wind, solar power, and other cleaner power production methods (which doesn’t include the generational threatening nuclear poison) and massively reduced the burning of oil then we won’t have to be as concerned with the coal plant CO2 emissions.
We burn massive amounts of oil for our vehicles and continental plane travel. If this was severely reduced then the CO2 emissions would be greatly reduced and the coal mining practices and pollution could then become the major areas for us to tackle concerning coal powered plants. How can we claim to be concerned with CO2 emissions and global warming while turning a blind eye to our wasteful and foolishly unnecessary massive use of air traffic over land masses, when high-speed train travel is so much more energy efficient and electricity instead of oil can be used as its power source?
Solving our environmental problems requires us to use REAL SCIENCE not just run around screaming hysterically while promoting sensationalism and extremism as we pretend we care.
